Need of Wood Preservation
The increasing demand of wood/ mbermay not be possible from the present forests. Even import of wood and raising plantaons of fast growing wood species are unlikely to provide long term relief because of heavy drainage of foreign exchange and high inputsrequired in plantaons. Depleng supplies of durable wood have forced use of many nondurable wood species. Such use, however, becomes uneconomical if the wood is used in its natural form as products manufactured from such species deteriorate soon in adverse environment and necessitate early and frequent replacements. Such a situaon can be easily avoided by using proper preservaon and ensuring a trouble-free long service of mber by STPL Vacuum-Pressure Impregnaon process, the preservave treatment extends the life of mber 3 - 5 mes in most drasc condions & 6 to 8 mes in normal condions.

Timber Treatment Plants
Robust Steel Construction for high penetration of water borne CCA/CCB preservative in VACCUM-PRESSURE-VACUUM cycle. Integrated with high quality pumping & piping system. A unique Dual mode preservative piping system provided ensures easy switch over of preservatives without additional time, money & labour.
Pressure Treatment process
Impregnation of wood under pressure is the most desirable & best method to get uniform and proper treatment under controlled conditions. This is usually done in a pressure cylinder equipped with vacuum pressure system, storage tanks and mixing tanks for preservative solutions. The basic principle for all pressure impregnaon processes for treatment of wood is to inject preservative solution into wood structure under pressure with or without the use of initial vacuum. The pressure duration and magnitude vary with treat ablity class of mber. The advantage of the process is to have quick and connuous flow of treated material. Absorpons can be monitored within a charge from gross absorpons of soluons from the work tanks, as the impregnaon proceeds.

Environmental & Pollution of treatment preservatives: Preservative treated wood poses no health or pollution hazards although precaution are required at treatment sites. The chemicals used undergo reaction with wood forming non-leachable complexes ruling out any possibility of environmental pollution releasing from treated wood.
